Car fixed, for now
Well, at least it was something simple. Apparently my battery decided to short itself out. That's why it showed a full charge when I put my charger on it. That's one of those things I would never have guessed, and would have been unable to figure out. So the car is working. At the moment. For now. Until something else goes wrong. These last two weeks have been nothing but trouble it seems, at least in the automotive department. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the end of such matters.

sounds good- hope that takes care of it.
Was the negative battery wire not tightly connected at both ends? (is that what is meant by "shorting out?"). Same symptoms happened to my vehicle many years back, and after numerous unsuccesful attempts to jump it, I called a tow truck.
The guy arrived, looked underneath the car and saw that the negative wire was hanging loose (the bolt had worked loose that connected it to the frame/engine block). He reconnected it and it started right up - pretty embarassing for my early-20s self!
